I had the incorrect dates on my background check. This is for campus hire not experience. The reason being, I didn’t want to reveal a 7 month gap of unemployment so i stretched out the start date. Deloitte asked me to work with the internal dept. team to resolve it by documentation or explanation. Any ideas to get out of this?

As cliche as it sounds, I would just be honest about it. Really no way around it as they do pretty exentsive checks from my experience. If your that far into process I doubt they would terminate the agreement.

Be honest about the dates and why you used an incorrect date. What did you do during those 7 months? If you can throw some sort of “gaining experience” into it that might help (don't try to embellish though). I would be prepared to have the offer revoked though. Good luck, I really hope it works out for you!

How long did you stretch out the date? If it was a month, no big deal just say “Oops, my bad. I was mistaken. I thought I started [in June] rather than [July].”
If you stretched it out for more than that or the whole seven months (which I really hope you did not), you're going to need to come up with a really good reason for that discrepancy.
I don't think they will revoke their offer at this point but there is always that off-chance they will so just hope for the best.
My advice for you in the future is: Don't do that.

I would make sure you have a really solid explanation as to why you did it like a mistake of some kind or just come clean right away. Maybe since you haven't started yet they will let it slide, but it could also go the wrong way too. When I was in college a professor told me when they worked in public accounting a new hire lied about passing two parts of the CPA before starting, so when that person passed two “more” parts while working they assumed she was done now. She then came clean and said she lied about the first two and they fired her because they felt it was something so basic to lie about, and they didn't ask her to be done with any parts before starting, so if she lied about something like that, what else would she do in her career that could be shady….
