Finished CPA exam…what's next?

I’m a recent graduate and I don’t start my first accounting job for another few months, but once I do, what’s next? just get a feel of whether I like public accounting? whether I want to join private industry? obtain additional certifications?

do I slow down and enjoy the moment? As weird as it sounds, the last 8 months of my life have been this exam so i’m trying to find myself again. I’m taking vacations in the meantime and catching up with the friends i didn’t talk to…trying to re-integrate into society right now.

Enjoy the time off before you start working 🙂 I just finished my first year in public accounting. Depending on your schedule, you probably won't really get a feeling for what it is like until after your first busy season. With that said, I wouldn't be looking for a “what's next” once you start working. You just have to feel out what it is like.

Go to bars and tell all the hot girls how you passed the CPA exam and how hard you worked to get to this point in your life. They will reply “Oh cool I go to college and my parents have a trust fund set up for me that gives 7000 dollars a month.”
