Hi CPA Candidates/CPA’s,
What would you say in the order of least to greatest is your favorite topic to study and which exams do you feel was the easiest to take.

Easiest from least to greatest: AUD>FAR>BEC>REG

My favorite topics from least to greatest would be: Reg>AUD>BEC>FAR. Even though FAR is a beast, I still enjoyed the financial reporting side of accounting more than the other sections.

It's difficult to say which sections were the easiest for me. When I was studying for each section there were different times that I thought each test was the most difficult. If I had to rank them from easiest to hardest, I would say BEC>FAR>AUD>REG. I had a rough time with AUD and I didn't know all the taxes very well, so I struggled with the last two.

I think about 90% of us will say FAR was the least favorite and probably the hardest to pass. Great question.

For the most part, the FAR stuff just made sense to me. I had a helluva a time with BEC.

I agree with you RyonT. I enjoyed FAR because the material makes sense to me as well (Although its a beast). I notice a lot of people enjoy studying for REG, because its relatable but find a challenge in the testing environment. I struggle with REG, It was a huge struggle for me. I just wanted to spark conversation outside of the daily CPA struggles.

I’ve only taken 3 of the 4 so far (no REG yet) but I’ll go on what I’ve taken and guess as to where I think REG will fall based on my opinion of Tax and Business Law.

Easiest to hardest: FAR easiest then BEC then AUD so far. I think REG will end up being my hardest though.

Favorite to least: AUD (loved it just found the subjectivity of the questions challenging), FAR, BEC. I’m guessing REG will either be my least favorite or fall between FAR and BEC.

Oddly even though I scored higher on BEC it seemed a lot harder to me and I never would have guessed coming out of Prometric that I had even come close to the 92 I got on FAR much less beat it! As far as AUD, I just took it today (well technically yesterday now since it’s after midnight, but with all the subjectivity I had a lot of doubts and am just hoping to scrape a pass.
