Hello everyone. I started studying for FAR last week and so far it seems kind of overwhelming. I am currently watching the lecture, re-writing the notes and the problems, and then when I go do the hw nothing is sticking. I feel like I don’t know anything in the question and I am starting to question if I can actually do this. Anyone have any study tips for FAR? I’m currently using Becker Self-Study.

    Thanks!

That's what I did minus the lectures. It's normal to get ~50% on the first round of chapter quizzes. I think I got as low as 20% on one of them. I could have randomly guessed better than that. Just keep chugging, and things tend to just fall into place towards the end. Also, if you're using Becker, I'd recommend their final review. I found it incredibly useful in wrapping it all up in a neat little bow.

    FAR | 81 - July 21 15
    REG | 66 - Oct 1 15 | 87 - Jan 7 16
    AUD | 90 - Oct 29 15
    BEC | 86 - Nov 25 15

If you are using Becker: see below the study pattern that I used:
    F-8,F-9
    F-1,F3
    F-4,F-5 ( f-2 by small portion)
    F-6,F-7
    F-10
8 weeks and then allow your self 2 weeks for review. It is common to score 40% and 50% ….it is common and natural just like we see daylight every day…you get used to and work you way up to improve your score.
    BEC-Pass 08/14
    AUD-Pass 02/15
    FAR-Pass 08/15
    REG-Pass 11/15

@makiu I'm sure there is a reason you went out of order when studying, why is that?

    @cpahopeful27 ,

I am in the same boat. My first round of MCQ's were dismal even though I felt like I understood the questions because of the lectures. I got in the habit of writing notecards and it helped considerably.. something about writing things down helps retain some common sense stuff we may over look. Also, when doing the homework, I use scratch paper to jot down. I guess now I have to work on answering questions on time!
