FAR schedule possible?

    Hello,

I’m thinking about scheduling FAR for sometime in January as long as my NTS arrives before then. My semester ends this week and I have break for one month exactly. 12/11-1/11. Is it possible to study for FAR during this time period and still pass the exam? If so, how many hours should I expect to dedicate or how many chapters a day/week?

    Thanks!

Many people say to study around 150 hours for FAR. I'd say the range of study-hours for succesful passes is more like 70-200 or 225, with a bell-shaped curve and 90% of passes falling in that range…and of course some outliers requiring less or more. So, 1 month could be plenty if you buckle down, or could be too little if you're someone who needs the 225 end of the range and/or if you don't buckle down. Given that it sounds like you'll be fresh from classes that probably cover a lot of the same materials, I would say you'd be good if you study hard through your break and are able to get your NTS in time to schedule close to your 1/11 date. If you are back into classes for a couple weeks before you can test and therefore have a couple weeks to forget everything, that could make your test rougher when you get to it (definitely need to have a couple solid days of review prior to the exam).

I studied less than a full month for FAR and made a 94. You have to put in the time though.

    FAR - 94
    AUD - 90
    BEC - 86
    REG - 87

Prepared for FAR in 5 weeks with about 120 hours logged. I was in my MAcc program and working full-time during that stint too. Otherwise, I would have definitely studied more. If your schedule will be clear until mid January then you should be good to go. Just watch out for the holiday season malaise that is fast approaching.

    BEC - 05/26/2015 77
    AUD - 07/27/2015 88
    FAR - 08/31/2015 80
    REG - 11/30/2015 73, 04/18/2016 80 Done!!!

I am taking 8 weeks since i can only commit about 20 hours a week on average to studying… some weeks maybe more then 20 but at least 20 hours of studying so we will see i got a 74 last time after studying 5 weeks but i was pressed for time.

    FAR - Passed 4/2016
    AUD - Passed 11/2015
    REG - ?
    BEC - 05/28/2016

How many chapters a week does 20 hours typically involve? I'm trying to figure out how many sections I should aim to do per day/week.
