    Studying question.

I’m going through FAR for the first time. I have all of the ninja products and Becker videos and Becker chapter questions. With the sheer volume of material in FAR, I’m not sure how to approach this exam.

The correct way to ‘ninja’ is to take good notes, then go back and do all of the chapter questions/mcq’s. Was this technique helpful for those that have passed? I’m considering OPTION 1, going through the videos and completing the chapter questions, chapter by chapter, or OPTION 2, go through all of the videos and take notes,… Then go back and do ninja mcq’s and chapter notes (like crazyyyyyyyyyyy) after I get through all of the material.

Any advice and tips from your experience is helpful and appreciated.

    Thank you.

In Beckers, dont kill too much time with chapter 1 or 10. If you have time get to them but i didnt really spend anytime on either. Government and non for profit are both very important. The way i did it, was i watched the videos, did the mcqs right after, once all the videos and mcqs were dont i did the simulations, and i did not do the additional questions i left those for review. Dont be demotivated by the scores on the mcqs and the two finals that they provide, i ranged between 50-60% on all mcq's, and the two finals i completely flopped, but overall i felt that Beckers was harder then the actual test and they do a fantastic job in preparing you. That was my strategy and though i just passed, i dont care if it was with my 76 or a 65, at the end of the day a pass is pass. Good luck!

Given the choices, I'd choose option 2. With option 2, you'll get a good knowledge base from the videos and notes, then you'll start to reinforce and build on that information by doing MCQs – lots and lots of MCQs. I think with option 1 by the time you get to the last chapters you'll have started to forget the first chapters. Just my opinion.

    As far as tips go:
    – Make sure you know and understand the journal entries inside/outside/backwards/forwards.
    – Know how those journal entries will affect the various financial statements.
    – Don't skimp on studying Government/NFP/IFRS.
    – When doing MCQs, any time you get one wrong or guess on one, take detailed notes on it.

I have tried to take notes but i feel like it slows me down. I try and get through reading the material all the way through first then i follow that up with Ninja Notes every day.
