    Hi ,

Got my breakdown on FAR -72.

Strong and comparable on everything else but weak on sim.

Please advice how to prepare on sims.

How much time i should allot for retake . Is 3 weeks enough.

Please advice on as how to prepare.

Time management is my biggest problem. Only 45 min left when i reached to sims on exam. And i was rushing.

    Thanks in advance.

seems you would have passed if you had more time for the SIMs, you really need an absolute minimum of 1.5hours for SIMs on FAR.

Just be much more mindful of the time & don't spend too much time on a MCQ question. Better to get a question wrong & save yourself 10 minutes for a sim

Which study materials are you using? Have you been writing it out like the Ninja program stresses? You could have just been dealt a nasty batch of SIMS.

I failed FAR in Nov with a 74 and I am retaking on Jan 5. I have been practicing MCQ with Becker and Ninja and every time I get one wrong, or I got it right, but still not sure why- I write out the explanation and then I cross-reference the Becker text book and Ninja notes and write out MORE notes. It is time consuming but it is really working. I am only giving myself 2 weeks so I will feel the pressure and work longer hours.

Also- complete JEs for problems, even if you don't have to. If you don't know how to do the JE for a particular problem, cross-reference your book and you will likely see an example on how to do it. Hope this helps. Good luck. You know your stuff. You will pass next time.

    busybee1213 and win2betmore,

Many thanks to you both. I am using Yeager and Roger CPA review. I did use Wiley test bank before for NOV exam but now i am using Roger test bank and started studying today DEC 27 . Trying to do 30 MC in 45 min time and review why ans is wrong and why it is right .After 5 day i will decide on date to sit for the exam, probably in jan end. I don't learn better with notes. If i get bore with roger i will get Ninja test bank also.

Sounds like you know what you are doing, just take to long on the MCQs.

Buy NINJA MCQ and keep doing them until you can get through MCQs faster. Don't second guess yourself.

Your score breakdown concerns me. For AUD, I got a 79, and my breakdown was completely all over the place. Weaker on SIMS and an area or two in MC and then stronger in the rest of the MC sections. I passed though. It's scary to think you can do very well on all MC and weaker on FAR SIMS and fail. Yikes.

    AUD - 79
    FAR - 82
    REG - 78
    BEC - 80

Done in 5 months with a wedding, finishing my Masters degree, a new public accounting job, a small business, a puppy, and a house in the mix. If I can do it, you can do it. I'm not normally good at things, it's just God is awesome.

Stronger on 2, comparable on everything else except for SIMs which was weaker for the REG.

I already knew I failed and needed more practice with SIMs (or rather, using the terrible IRC) and this only confirms that.

I got a 66 on FAR in August. I retook it in Nov and got an 81. On my first test I managed to do 1,200 questions in Ninja MCQ however I also sold , packed and moved out of my house 3 weeks before the exam. On round two, I actually did it again. I finished tax season on Oct 15, started studying again about a week before that. I moved again into a new house on Oct 20, then immediately went back to studying. I did approximately 2,100 MCQ and made sure I had 1.5 hours to do the SIMS. I also listened to the Ninja AUD several times and took a ton of notes. I watched Blitz fully 3 times. It was over the top but I felt great in the exam.
