I’ve tried to do some research but can’t find anything definitive. I’m currently studying for the CPA but am considering changing careers to compliance/risk (process instead of numbers) where I would not be working for a CPA. Do I have to be working for a CPA at the time I want to get licensed or is it just meet the hours requirement at any point in my career and get my old boss to sign off? I’m hoping to be licensed towards the end of the year so it would be around a year that I would have not worked for a CPA. I’ve been doing the same type of job for 9 years so I have definitely met the experience requirement. I’m in OH if that matters.
