I am applying for licensing in the state of TN now that I have passed all of the sections of the exam. Part of the experience form states “If this is not a CPA firm, was the Applicant’s experience in the field of accounting?”. The state board says the following for experience, “Experience may consist of providing any type of services or advice using accounting, attest, management advisory, financial advisory, tax or consulting skills”. If the CPA attesting to my hours checks no to that question since my experience is consulting/financial advisory and not “accounting”, would that affect my application since there is no other place to state the experience was gained through another acceptable avenue?
