So, just found out I passed all the sections. I can’t find any info on this but, does my public accounting experience during college count towards the 1850 hour req? Worked at a firm for 3 years and it would suck if it didn’t.

Congratulations!!!!! Of course your experience is going to count. I know a friend that was already working in an accounting firm when she was going to college. Passed 4 exams in 3 months and got the license right away.

This can vary state-to-state. I know some states only count experience after completion of the Bachelor's degree and/or after completion of the education requirements. So, check with your state board. But I think it's safe to say that most states would count the experience while in college.

Yeah in Florida experience only counts once you meet the requirements to sit for the exam. So if it is during your undergrad and you are not yet eligible to sit it doesn't count.

Also Congratulations!!! That is the hard part. Good work!

NY is the same as FL. Any experience prior to graduation (qualifying to sit for the exam) does NOT count. I hated this as I worked for a CPA firm all throughout college. But what can you do, rules are rules! Congrats of passing.

Awesome you got through the exams!

    Check 2 things:
    1) your state board to make sure the timing of experience and TYPE of experience will qualify.
    2) your current employer has someone who can certify your experience for the application.
