Andyred04ParticipantI know there’s already a couple threads out there similar to this but all of them are like 4 years old so I’m looking for some fresh stuff. This is my last full day of studying before my exam on Friday so I’m looking for some entertainment to keep me going tonight. What are your exam day traditions/superstitions?

StilgoinParticipantI take my exams at 1:30 on Thursdays so I can arrive at Prometric around 11:00 and go over my notes before I go in for the exam, and I can celebrate all weekend after. If I don’t get my 1:30 Thursday spot, I have some serious OCD issues kick in. 😀 And last time, they sent me to the left of the check-in point instead of my normal right-side spot. Let’s just say I barely squeaked by because my routine was ruined. Lol

jessica8926ParticipantI always take my exam at the same location and at the same time, 8:30 am. That way I get it over with and have the rest of the day off from work. The one time I took it at a different location and time I failed with a 74 so never jinxing that again! I also try to wear the same outfit which consists of baggie yoga pants and a hoodie with my hair pulled back and converse sneakers on. Also, I bring along my lucky little frog charm and rub him for good luck before going into the test center. So far it has worked decently for me! All of this helps me feel like I have some control over how my score goes!

S1CPAParticipantThe 3 exams I passed, I have taken it at a prometric facility outside of the city. It had a parking lot/etc, that I could drive to.
The 1 exam I failed, I took it at a prometric facility in the city. Decided driving in and trying to find a place to park would be too much of a hassle, I took an Uber there.
For my retry, I made sure to chose a prometric exam that I could drive to. Granted, this one is 30 mins away instead of the one in the city that is 5 mins away, but if that can make the difference then it's worth it.
Oh, and I second what @JohnWayneIsGod said

cmason.runner86Participant@jessica8926 1 week until your BEC retake! How are you feeling? I've got mine on the 25th. I've got to do some serious studying this weekend.
I generally take my exam at 11:00 or 1:00, though I took the last one at 8:00am (and didn't pass). I attribute that to not enough studying, however.
I DO like to get up early enough to go for a 4 or 5 mile run – during which I clear my head (no headphones or anything like that) and pray for my anxiety to subside. Plus – the running releases endorphins, and so I feel good and confident by the time I head to the test center.

jessica8926Participant@cmason.runner86: I am feeling OK, like you I need to do some serious studying this weekend which will make me feel a whole lot better! I feel OK because I am finishing up the last few chapters in Becker which are easy haha so of course I have a confidence boost when I see myself getting above 80% on all MCQs. Where I am nervous is the financial management stuff and all those formulas. I know everyone says you wont have crazy complicated calcs on the test, but for me I feel better if I can memorize the formulas anyway. Also going to focus on COSO again as I hear it is a very popular topic on the exam. Otherwise, I have a good feeling I will pass this time. Taking it the first time is always brutal for me so the second time around I am a lot more prepared and confident feeling so hoping this is my last one ever!!!!
How are you holding up??
P.S. Glad I will not be the only one going to suffer from having to wait an entire month for our scores….misery loves company haha

hasyParticipantIt's going to be hitting 3 in 2 weeks but I will take the test at the SAME center for my last one. I love this test center, it is a good 20 miles away but the staff are friendly and pretty reasonable.
If I KNOW I studied HARD for the test, I will get a manipedi the day before. It feels good and relaxing. I have consistently planned a dinner that involves a lot of alcohol, following after. As for music, I actually listened to NINJA audio on the way there for FAR but otherwise, I make sure to listen to music I can karaoke to. I'm hoping I have to go to this test center 4 times, but I have a good feeling it might be 5 because of REG. -.-”

Jdn9201ParticipantI'm done with the exams, but thought I'd share mine. It's funny because I don't consider myself to be a superstitious person but looking back, I did have several routines when it comes to exam day.
1. Test period – I always chose the 1:30 timeslot because I am not a morning person. The first 2 were on Saturdays, the last 2 were on workdays (I would work till 11:30, grab lunch at the neighboring Chick Fila, and then get to Prometric about 12:45). I at first was bummed because I couldn't find a Saturday at my preferred location for my 3rd exam, but I actually preferred taking them on weekdays. Being at work forced me to do something else besides thinking about the test.
2. Studying – I never ever studied the morning of the exam. Usually, I called it quits by 5pm of the previous day. People are different, but I find when I study at the last minute it scrambles my brain and causes anxiety.
3. Prometric – I took all of my tests at the same location. The next closest location to me is 2 hours away, but my preferred location had very nice people who were super organized. I also always chose locker #20. 🙂
4. Breaks – Some people say no breaks, because it takes away from your time, but I took at least 1 break in every exam. I always took a break between Testlet #3 and the SIMS. For my 1st two exams, I took a break between every testlet. As far as breaks for studying, I always took 2 weeks off between exams. I liked short study windows (3-6 weeks) so the break gave me a chance to chill out so I could focus for the next window.
