Why is the ethics exam to certify more difficult than any part of the 4 sections of the CPA exam???!!!!

Are you doing the AICPA test? I know certain states use different tests. The AICPA test was easy, the test followed the book and you could reference the index to find all the answers.

@Trele6 was the AICPA's ethics more conceptual? Do you think it is easier than AUD? Is there a time to complete the test?

@maj1028, The AICPA test was pretty straight forward I felt. They give you the test on paper and you go through the book and answer everything. After you feel confident in your answers you log in and put them in and hit submit and get your grade. So you can take as long as you want on it really.

Some of the questions felt straight out the AUD and REG study material and were easy because of that. For the other stuff it really is just looking in the index and flipping to the page and reading. Most stuff was word for word or really close. If I remember correctly it was 45 questions. I'd say 5-7 were tricky or difficult to answer, granted you can only get ~5 wrong and pass so it is just enough to make you sweat.

You do get three tries I think, and if it takes more than that you have to purchase again? Not sure since I passed on first go.

For the AICPA ethics exam… do you have to actually go through all the lessons on the online course, or can you just skip to the exam and take it?

I went through all the lessons although did not dig deep on all links/attachments they recommend for you to go to/read. I don't know if they have a rule that you have to go through all/some of the lessons but I would personally recommend for you to go through all of it, after all the reason you have to take ethics exam is to make sure you understand your professional and ethical responsibility when you become a CPA. Moreover, there could be some topics which were not covered by your reviewer.

There are very short audios and you can just skim through any text. Therefore, you can literally finish it in a day or two.

I'm not sure if the software tracks that you viewed everything or not, but i went through it anyway just because i thought it was kinda useful. if you've done all 4 tests you've already seen most of this material in one form or another. I did it on a slow day at work a couple weeks ago, started at about 8, and was completely done and passed the test by 2pm. Pretty easy to do it all in one straight shot.
