About it not being “curved”…it is. Period. FAR was my first exam and I choked on several topics. I mean really froze up and panicked a bit. I walked out knowing 4 MC alone I had switched from the right answer to the wrong answer (knew this for a fact as I reflected on my way home). And I ended up getting a 90…

Another myth: You can tell if questions get more difficult/easier.

CPA Tobe speaks the truth on both accounts.

About the curve: People have walked out the testing center knowing for sure they got questions wrong and got a 99.

About you can tell if the questions are difficult/easier: For my first two exams (Aud. and Reg.) I swore I could see them getting harder. For Bec and Far I couldnt tell one bit. I'm inclined to believe that the increase in difficulty I saw was just in my head.

CPAtobe11 & novatrek86 – Unless things have changed in the last year or so, you can miss as many as 5 or 6 questions in each testlet and still get a perfect score for the testlet, as long as you miss the right questions (pretest questions). So for people who scored in the 90's but were sure they missed a couple, that's probably the explanation.
