Just wondering how others feel about how well prepared they were in relation to the time frame between education and testing. Was the studying and exams extra hard because it had been a while since your education? Was it fairly easy because you had just finished? Or Vice Versa of either?

Right now, I’m studying for FAR, and I feel fairly confident with the material considering I just wrapped up Intermediate II. I’m afraid though that I might be missing something. I’m just starting so I’m sure it will get tougher as I go along.

If this has been posted somewhere my apologies. Not very proficient with the search.

If you had a quality education, then these tests will be much easier soon after your education than they will be after awhile. I had about a year's break between college and starting the exam, and I kinda wish I'd started it sooner! I didn't particularly have an option (finished my degree, then took my non-accounting extra 30 credits, then the RTRP exam, then tax season, and then a year had passed…), but I do think that these have been easier for me than for others due to my recent educational experience with these topics, and that they would've been easier yet if I'd taken them shortly after finishing college.

If you're using a well-respected curriculum, then I'd say if you're feeling confident with the material, consider it a blessing and don't question it! 🙂 If you were using something unheard of thing, I'd wonder if it was accurate to the exam…but if it's any of the “big names” (Becker, Wiley, Yaeger, Roger's, CPAExcel, Gleim, etc) then I would just conclude that your professors and/or study habits served you very well through college!
