CPAexcel has partnered with the University of North Alabama (UNA) to offer the Professional Accounting Prep Program. The program is designed to help individuals earn university accounting credits to meet the 150-hour requirement to be eligible to take the CPA Exam.

Many individuals looking to make a career change to accounting discover that they need additional academic coursework. The UNA Professional Accounting Prep Program is designed to meet these educational needs and provides the following benefits:

Take up to eight 3-credit hour accounting/business law courses. The courses offered are those that are commonly required by states to sit for the CPA Exam.

All courses are offered online to meet the demands of your busy life.

All courses are taught by full-time faculty at UNA using state-of-the-art instructional technology developed by Efficient Learning Systems. These faculty are available to provide guidance and feedback as you complete the course requirements.

Tuition is $475 per 3-credit course, which includes the costs of all study text materials.

Hope this is helpful for those needing additional credits. *kma*

I asked this question to Jeff, so maybe we'll hear about it on the podcast. But I wanted to hear your guys' take on it too:

Can the CPAexcel course function as a complete replacement for the upper-level accounting courses you might get at a traditional university? I have 150 hours from a prior degree, but little of it is accounting related. I've recently taken principles of accounting 1-3 and business law 1 from my community college. Would I be missing something by banking on the UNA/CPAexcel to teach me all the accounting I need to know?

I'm checking with the Oregon board to make sure that they'll accept the 24 credits from UNA. And for my 24 “accounting related” credits, I have ~ 10 credits from the community college and a bazillion credits in German. I'm also hoping they accept the German as accounting related, but that's another forum post.

Has anyone taken more than 2-3 courses in one semester? Is it do-able to take more than that?
