I am starting my first year job in auditing in October, but my firm asked me to take an auditing skills class this month to prepare for it at the WSCPA (Washington Society of CPAs). I would imagine that this is similar to the CPE classes that they put on. What should I wear?

Is there a coordinator/contact you could email to ask? Or a new co-worker that you could ask who's also been through the class?

If worse comes to worse, I would err on the side of caution and dress business casual (no jeans, no slogans, no tennis shoes, etc) seeing as you never get a second chance to make a good impression.

I've been to the WSCPA before and I'd say business casual is the norm. Nice jeans and a decent top are fine too.
