I just passed my CPA exam and request recommendation and experience letter from one of the partners (small firm, no HR department). However, it seems takes him forever to give me the letters. I have asked him twice and I am really annoyed. How do you guys handle it?

@vanessach and @ib553 – Congrat's to both of you! I received my license # yesterday. Well, I looked on the cpaverify website on a whim and I was there. I haven't heard directly from the State Board of Accountancy, but I'm a licensed CPA! And in a strange twist, they still haven't cashed my check 🙂

@Vannesachy. Yes you can. You are officially CPA now. They update Verify peridically. I could not see it there but you should be able to see on this site: https://elicensing.state.ma.us/CitizenAccess/GeneralProperty/PropertyLookUp.aspx?isLicensee=Y.

@bhunt815 Congrats on getting your license. Good to be finished before 2017.

@vanessachy, my report states that the license was issued on 10/20/2016, but it didn't show up on the cpaverify.org website until 10/26. I checked on 10/25 and I wasn't there. All that to say, don't freak out if it takes a few days. It seems that mine must have taken 4 workdays to show up, 6 days in total from the time it was issued.

@Vanessachy, congratulations! It was a pretty good feeling when my name came up on the search. It took me a few seconds to accept that it was real, like I somehow thought something was still going to keep me from getting licensed somehow. 🙂
