I just passed my CPA exam and request recommendation and experience letter from one of the partners (small firm, no HR department). However, it seems takes him forever to give me the letters. I have asked him twice and I am really annoyed. How do you guys handle it?

@Vanessachy. That's a great news.Congrats! My license application has been approved and I'm officially CPA in MA now. I am waitìng for the wallet size license and already ordered a wall certficate through NASBA. I have also been promoted in my current job. Which CPE provider you plan to use?

@IB553, that was quick, so it is less than a month. Congrats!
Normally firms provide CPE classes, so I don't normally look for CPE classes, but I think Gleim Becker, even you can go directly to MACPA society to pick up CPE.

@Vannesachy. Yes, it was pretty quick. But It did took couple of weeks for me. I think they also run background check which can take some days. But you should expect to hear soon. Have you started to search for CPE provider? AICPA seems to be expensive.

I am considering CPE depot for CPE hours.They are reasonable and approved by NASBA. Have you heard about any other better option for CPE hours?

I'm jealous of the people whose state boards are so efficient. I sent my application to my state board over a month ago and I haven't heard back from them yet. They haven't even cashed my check.

@IB553, I never looked for a course, CPA firms are responsible paying for it, my next job is a top regional accounting firm and I won't need to pay for it. I remember there are some free courses like one credit CPE.

@bhunt815, at this point, we should just relax and wait, we have done the hard work. They will never be fast, and I don't think MA is that fast.

@Vannesachy. Good for you. I m not sure if my employer will pay for it since I am not in public accounting. In Connecticut they arrange ceremony for new CPAs and they get their license. It could have been nice but I don't think they have this in MA.

@bhunt815 which state you have applied for?

@IB553, I am in Louisiana. I did hear from them once since I made a bonehead error on my application re: my start date where I work. I put 2016 instead of 2008 for the year. So, I shouldn't be complaining since they gave me the opportunity to correct that instead of just trashing my application. I just want to see my name with a license # behind it, but I waited this long…I can wait another couple weeks.

@Vanessachy. Congratulations on this good news! I have received my CPA certificate but still waiting for my wallett size license. You can also order CPA certificate at NASBA once you have you license number.
