I recently accepted an offer from Big4 (associate) and waiting for background check to be done.

I’m actually very concerned about my low credit score and actually very anxious if this will hinder me to get a job.

Nothing like bankruptcy but just very poor credit score due to the fact that I’m only living with one parent and she is the sole bread-earner in the family and I had gone school full-time with working part-time + had to take cpa exam.

(just typical lower class life living barely by paycheck to paycheck)

Since I’m very anxious about it and also possibly thinking about the worst case, I haven’t tell anyone about my offer yet (including my current employer).

I’m hoping to get cleared asap so that I can give my employer as much as early notice about my quit

and tell my friends about my offer, and finally get out of financial burden.

I would really appreciate any comments. Thanks!

Have you specifically initiated the background check yet? My first B4 Employer, I had to submit infromation to do the backgroung check, and I got notice that it was clear after a couple of days. But they had to verify with my college information, etc… So it could take some time. My second B4 employer, just did the background check. I don't think I ever heard back.

I would not worry about them denying you because of a credit score. I have student loans for undergrad and grad school, and a bit of credit card debt on several credit cards, as well as a car loan. Really, don't worry about it. I don't even think they looked at my credit to be honest, because my credit report didn't say they pulled it.
