I’m very close to making a decision to use a PEO and working with Insperity. One of the benefits is online CPE credits free and I wondered if any were CPE that apply to CPA requirements or if they’re primarily in other disciplines?

Yes, I used to. They had just implemented it when I started working there and they made the decision NOT to use them for payroll any longer. I remember Insperity was very difficult to work with through the process of getting the employees registered onto their payroll system. There were 2 employees who could not be identified (they were immigrants with green cards) and Insperity told them they needed to terminate those people immediately. Well needless to say, that did NOT happen…. They kept using Insperity for everything else other than payroll, from what I knew.

Well payroll is one thing that can't possibly be worse than what I have. I have to CALL it in and can't proof it before it's submitted, they screw it up every single week, if I try to get them to correct a blatantly obvious mistake they want to charge me for a second payroll submission. I'm constantly issuing manual checks for overtime pay that was submitted at the straight time rate and having them make the adjustment to the employee record the following week.

Well yeah Insperity's payroll service might be better than what you currently have. Although, the CFO totally ripped them a new one when they said “you need to initiate termination proceedings for Employee X and Employee Y because we will NOT be paying them.” And she was like “Oh yes you will and don't you dare ever instruct us to terminate people again as that is NOT your duty and not in our contract with you.” She was right!!
