I thought for sure I had failed BEC and AUD and managed to pass with good scores… I know a lot of people think that when that happens, that the person obviously was just making a big deal out of nothing, but with both of those tests my testlets didn’t seem to increase in difficulty and the SIMS/WC didn’t seem like they went well. After the backlash I got with everyone after passing AUD (“oh, yeah, thought you FAILED, geez”) I tried not to say too much about how I felt about BEC, except to vent to my husband. When I told him I passed, he gave a halfhearted “yay” and said, “For God’s sakes, you about had me convinced you failed that time, ” and then scoffed at me when I told him I really did think that I had failed…

A friend of mine has also been taking these things this year and he’s still working on getting that first pass and I accidentally let it slip that I was worried about this one and that it would be hard to get the motivation to study if I failed, to which he responded along the lines of, “You’ve at least passed two and that’s nonsense”. While I’m excited that I passed, I can’t help but feel bad about it. It’s not like I come out of the testing center feeling like a rock star or anything… I think for my last one I won’t say anything to anyone until I get my score.

Does anyone else ever feel kind of guilty about passing?

Mommy needs a cookie. Holding the vodka off until the next kid comes out in August! Can't believe I'm done!

@leeconolly I am the same way! I feel embarrassed about it when I end up receiving a failing score bc I stressed myself and everyone around me out bc of it for no reason

No reason to feel bad….they make us wait for weeks to find out how we did. I never once walked away and said I felt like I nailed that thing…my family always said, “ohh but you are so smart and you studied so hard you had to pass” Boy did I feel pressured waiting for score release after that….I always tell everyone…ohhhh I don't know it all depends it could go either way…I have been fortunate enought to not have to tell anyone it went the negative way. I think the guilt would be worse if you do not pass…I am not sure my hubby would forgive me for ignoring him months on end if I didn't pass!

    FAR: I slayed the Dragon!
    BEC: I defeated the Siren!
    AUD: I eliminated Medusa!
    REG: ?????

The adaptive nature of the test makes judging how you did difficult. Since few people have taken an adaptive test they just don't get it. I swore I failed Reg walking out the door and ended up with a 97. It is just one of the quirky things about this exam.

i have had to say i failed a few times when i had other friends who were more stressed than me but it never bothered me because i knew they studied a TON. ive only gotten annoyed when my roommate who barely studies would pass exams and then always want to check my score for me. Thankfully, i am finally done and she is still studying. So basically, no i never minded even when i failed as long as i thought that the person had studied for the exam even if they were completely anxious about it

    AUD 59,69,71,73 76
    BEC 79(LC), 80
    FAR 71,59,78 (expires 1/31/14)
    REG 77(LC), 88!!!

    DONE 12/6/13
