Does anyone actually pass when they think they do well? - Page 4

    I have taken one exam at this point which was FAR. I walked out feeling so incredibly devastated, I didn’t know what to do with myself. Then A71 and some of my friends that have their CPA told me I probably did great. I was CERTAIN I failed but then found out I passed.

    The more I read on here, the more I hear of people who think they failed but end up passing and the flipside of thinking they did great and end up failing. I understand this is the nature of adaptive testing.

    As stupid as this sounds… for future exams, should I honestly be expecting to walk out feeling like I failed beyond belief? Does anyone walk out feeling great about their test and end up actually doing great?

    FAR - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER)
    AUD - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
    BEC - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
    REG - 2013 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES + NINJA AUDIO)

    ETHICS - 2013 - PASSED

    DONE!!! Thank you A71 for all the support! Hiya!!!

    I took AUD in May and I thought I did great and I failed with a 74. I took it again the first week of July and again I thought I did well and today I found out I got an 85. Those two times are the only times I felt ok after an exam.

    REG - 78
    BEC - 74, 67, 69, 69, 70, 79
    FAR - 76
    AUD - 69, 69, 69, 74, 85

    I left my AUD exam feeling pretty good about it. I knew I didn't kill it, but figured I did enough to pass…ended up with a 78. I was predicting low to mid 80s, so I was a little off, but I'll take whatever passing score I can get!

    REG – Felt like it had kicked me in the behind. I was rushed and unsure about a couple of SIMS. I timed out of the exam.

    BEC – Exited with 30 minutes left. Felt fine about it.

    FAR – Exited with 20 minutes left. Felt fine about it.

    I passed REG with a 94. BEC and FAR both with 92s.

    REG - 94
    BEC - 92
    FAR - 92
    AUD - 99

    I took FAR on July 11th. Finished the exam with about 45 minutes to spare. I walked out of there thinking “wow, that was super easy”. Was 100% sure I passed.

    Then I started reading posts on this forum. Many people were saying that if you walk out of there feeling good, then that may be an indication that you did not passed. Over the following days and weeks this idea started gnawing away at me until today when I felt like when I checked my score I was definitely going to see a 74 flashing up at me.

    When I got home today at 4.30pm, I checked my score online, and voila….79! Not a great score I know, but a passing score none the less…

    So yes, you can feel good after an exam and still pass 🙂

    Used Wiley Books and Wiley Test Bank. Studied for 6 weeks 2-4 hours/day.

    @Charlie … I think a 79 is fantastic, factoring in 6 weeks & 2-4 hours a day. I studied WAY more than that for my 86

    FAR - [10/07/2013 --> 66] [07/07/2014 --> 86]
    BEC - [08/31/2014 --> 86]
    AUD - [11/24/2014 --> 88]
    REG - [02/14/2015 --> 92]

    @RandomAlt,

    Thanks. An 86 is a great score on FAR. I'm just happy that I passed. This CPA exam truly is a beast…

    I thought i did pretty well. I ended up doing pretty well. I hope it continues like this but i doubt it

    From my personal experience, after I took Far and Reg, I felt i did really bad but ended up passing the exam. For AUD, I felt I did bad each time and ended up failing the exam the first three times. The last time I took audit, I felt I did pretty well and ended up passing the exam with a good grade. When I took the 4th time retake for audit, I didn't feel MCQs got harder and harder. I got really worried. After read posts from A71, I realized this is normal so plz don't spend too much time analyzing the difficulties of the exam. Just focus on the exam.

    From my experience, for reg and far, when you felt you did bad, you probably passed. For audit, if you felt you did bad, you probably failed the exam. It is just my personal experience.

    FAR-Passed
    BEC-Passed
    REG-Passed
    AUD-Passed

    Walked out of AUD feeling like I made it my B****. Slapped with a 72. Walked out of the next three feeling like I had my a$$ handed to me. Scored an 80, 80, and an 81. Go figure.

    I felt extremely confident (mid 80's) leaving Aud round 2, and BEC round 1, I ended with 75's in both. I felt like I bombed FAR round 2, and ended up with a 74…I feel like there is very little correlation.

    REG- (1) 76
    FAR- (2) 64, (5)74, (7)83 (Over achiever!)
    AUD- (3) 70, (4) 75
    BEC- (6) 75

    YES, when i took AUD, i finished an hour and something earlier and i felt like a million bucks but then i started thinking what if i was wrong? what if there were tricks and i didnt take enough time to answer well…… and then i received my score, it was an 89

    FAR: 77 (1st attempt)
    AUD: 89 (1st attempt)
    BEC: 80 (1st attempt)
    REG: 80 (1st attempt)
