I’m sure if you’re an auditor, you’ve had to deal with internal or external clients who aren’t very willing to cooperate to get you to perform your procedures. Of course in extreme cases it’s a scope restriction.
Anyways, I work in an IA IT Audit department and I’m the data analytics expert. The financial audit team has had me work on a few projects for them, which my manager also helps me with, at times.
Unfortunately, some of the people in IT are fond of ignoring my emails when I ask simple questions. They will only respond after I leave a voicemail, and it’s almost as if I have to politely “push” them to get them to help me. Actually, one of them accepted 3 meetings with me and my manager but did not show up, 3 of those times. So, even my manager is having problems. He was extremely mad, and has even reported the guy to his superiors (but I’m sure nothing will happen).
I was so frustrated that I took a few days off, just to cool down, and study for CIA exam. Any suggestions on dealing with people who clearly don’t wanna help?
