Why aren’t more CPAs involved in higher politics (House of Reps, Senate, President, etc.)? Is it introvertedness? A lack of desire? Or mainly that lawyers have better knowledge/connections? Other?

We will be busy booking campaign donations and closing out the books by making the necessary journal entries that by the time we're done, the election would be over and lose by a landslide. Goods news though is our books will be conformed to GAAP.

We will only received one endorsement, and that is Tim Gearty, but he's only there to hock his own brand of highlight markers.

It sure as hell would be nice to have more accountants in congress regardless of party.

@Almond um YEP. People that actually understand you should try to shoot for break even or a surplus instead of just racking up more and more on the credit card 😐

A CPA that got into poli-tricks wouldn't be a CPA for long. I don't have the exact rule number, but the level of integrity that must be maintained to keep the license works against a political career. I think that's why most stay out of the limelight.
