Hi guys, i have a question. I work private industry and don’t know a lot of CPA’s in public accounting. I have a request to see if I can help somebody out in recommending an audit firm for a small local church. I don’t even know where to start. I was thinking of looking in the Houston Association of CPA’s. Is that a good start? Anybody from Houston that can recommend a firm?

Are they looking to have an audit performed or just looking for a CPA to perform bookkeeping?

I used to work at McConnell & Jones, I used to be in Audit and they do a lot of audits for schools, hospitals, not for profit. I am not sure what type of service you need but you can check them out at mjlm.com. Worst case, they might refer you to someone else
