Hi Guys – a question that came up at work. So I recently passed the exam now I am possibly running into a potential problem. My boss is a CPA but is licensed in Canada. I am registered in NY but work in MA. I would like to get my license in NY then with transfer or hold 2 licenses in NY and MA. Question is can my boss sign off on my experience? If not can I find an active US CPA to sign off on my work experience? As always, thanks for your help! 🙂

You should call your state board and get a definite answer.

    AUD - 73, 72 retake 7/2/2016
    BEC - 8/20/2016
    REG - TBD
    FAR - TBD

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.

To add – does anyone know if you can combine experience? I have done a few internships that total over 1 year under a CPA, but not one stretch with the same CPA. I am planning on calling NASBA but I didn't know if anyone had any similar experience. I looked on the work experience form and it looks like they CPA who signs off on your experience has the ability to write full time/part time date ranges, but when they sign off it only has the option of checking a box that says 1 year or 5 years.

It varies from state to state, actually.

Passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam!
    License application in progress
