I’m curious to know if someone on Another 71 has had this experience or is familiar with someone who has. I’m trying to gather more information on going from public accounting to the FBI.

I am bumping this cause I would also really like to know about this! Still in the very early stages of my career but I want to eventually do something like that.

I had a couple old roommates make that same transition and I know the background check takes approx. 6 months, and they had to go to Quanaco for training for a while not sure how long but it was weeks.

I have done research on this a while back.. If I recall the training was about 6-8 weeks and their is an age restriction.. I think you have to be under something like 35?? But I have also plan about doing this too and perhaps get a CFE too..

Me too, Always want find something interesting to do. Under 35? I will need to pray time can be switched back like those in “terminator”!

If I run like 25, does that count? hope there is exception like everything else in life.. Ha!

Depending, the training is 20 weeks and I think I read you have to be through the program by 37, though I do remember at one point it was 35. I just reviewed a posting on usajobs.gov and it went into explicit detail about requirements. Sounds cool! But 20 weeks is way too long. Blah.

Can’t reach 37 either, no matter how I stretch

From Certified Party Animal to Female Body Inspector. Yeah, I can see that happening.

The way I see it there are two investigative type careers:

1.) Forensic Accountant (non-law enforcement), see link https://www.fbijobs.gov/career-paths/forensic-accounting

2.) Special Agent (gun, badge), may not work fraud cases though, see link https://www.fbijobs.gov/career-paths/special-agents

Maybe reach out to your local field office and speak with a recruiter.

FAR - Passed (Perfect Score of 75 to finish it off)
