I am a California Examinee and am completely confused. So I am nearing the end and have just about passed all of my exams but one. I have been working under a CPA getting my general experience for 3 months now and March 2016 will mark my 1 year anniversary. However, I am not getting any attest hours as most of my general experience involves helping out with tax returns, preparing financials and consulting services etc…..

My Question is once March 2016 comes around at my 1 year anniversary of having 1 year of general experience, will I be a CPA or do I still need 500 hours of attest? I dont understand if I need just one or both to obtain my CPA License. I have read websites saying I need both the general experience and 500 hours of attest and other websites saying I only need one year of general experience.

If anyone can further clarify this it would be great!!!!
