    Hey everyone,

So I just finishing passing the exam equivalent of The Joker, and still 1 more year of training (work) away from being able to apply for licensure. I start my Big4 job this October. However, for NJ I called the board and they said there is no ethics exam, only like an ethics course that you take after being licensed? Is that correct, it just seems weird cause I thought the ethics exam was for everyone to take. Any information would be really helpful, kinda confused.

Its a 4 Credit Ethics Course that you have to take 6 months before you pass the exam or up to 6 months after receiving your license. Check the NJCPA site for approved courses (they have one almost ever yweek somewhere in NJ).

I heard that if you get licensed in January 2018 rather December 2017, you would be exempt from CPE for the triennial period which would be through 2020. Can anyone confirm that?

Yup, apparently NJ doesn't require you take an ethics exam to be licensed, but you need to take a course within 6 months of licensure.

I would assume that means you can take a course before licensure as well, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thank you all for the information! I greatly appreciate it, I just wanted to clarify so that I didn't make a mistake.
