Do many of your employers pay for the cost to renew your license annually, CPE credits, framing costs of your certificates, etc?

My company purchased Becker, paid for all testing cost including mileage and a meal on test day. Licensing application and all fees plus any yearly renewals and I am allowed to join one society (AICPA, etc). All the CPE is provided through a corporate subscription to CPE Link free to all employees. Nothing for the frame though :(. Hard to complain when everything else was provided 🙂

And they paid for my entire MBA to LSU-Shreveport. I work in industry, not public.

My firm reimburses up to $2,000 for getting the license. Then they paid for annual renewal and all CPE to keep it. That's it though. Framing and stuff like that is all personal.

Framing? o.O Is there anyone here whose employer actually did pay for the framing?

My employer didn't pay for anything…which is why I used Wiley (books, not videos) to study haha. I was working in public accounting (tax/bookkeeping)at a small, non-CPA firm (owner had been doing it for 30 years, but never obtained CPA license) when I took my first 3 tests, and in private (B2B service provider) when I took my last one. Neither had any offerings for reimbursement.

My ongoing costs are CPE (I use the online, unlimited for $300 or less sites usually, but for this next go-around will be able to count my MBA courses for most of my CPE) and every-other year license renewal. Off the top of my head, I think the license renewal was $100 for the 2 years. Not bad. My boss at my current job (private accounting, college) did ask me one day what I planned to do for CPE, but it wasn't an offer to pay for it. haha.

Since I work at a college, I can take courses for free (up to a certain amount), but their Master's options are limited so I'm paying for my own Master's. However, it's through LSU-Shreveport which is very economical.

My employer is paying my exam fees as well as “reasonable” study materials. (They pay for the Wiley book, focus notes, Ninja Audio and Ninja MCQ's. Comes to about $250/section). They do not make me take vacation for exam days and give me the two days before for final review. (They text me if they have an emergency, but otherwise, I spend those days at the library studying and reviewing). They will pay for licensing fees as well as any CPE's to maintain the license.

My boss has also promised a party with an open bar when I finally pass. LOL!

If I asked, they would probably pay for framing, but they've paid for everything else (including tuition for the ethics class I was missing in my educational requirements), so I'll just pay to have it framed myself.

Employer did not and will not pay for anything. I also used two weeks' vacation this year for the exam. Exam and study materials alone put me out $5k. No freebies for me.

Did not pay for testing fees/study materials. Did tell me they will pay for my CPE and costs to maintain it annually. When I was taking my exams though I was doing it on my own so I didn't expect them to or ask them to cover any costs. When I got promoted they immediately starting paying for CPA related costs included ethics test and licensing fee.

I actually wrote this out on an excel sheet.

Both places of employment only agreed to pay for one take per exam. 1st employer paid for the review course and one of the days that I took BEC. Then I moved to the 2nd employer, who only agreed to pay for the exams I took while employed with them so they paid for the remaining 3 but not my fails. Paid for the license and fees. They will also pay for my AICPA membership and CPE fees, but that's when I get licensed. Also, license renewal fees as well.

I paid and am paying for everything out of pocket. Probably why I'm scared to death of not passing an exam haha…
