Hey, y’all…I need some help. Here I am, done with the CPA exam, trying to spend some time with my 10 year old son playing Madden 11, and I am getting slaughtered. The last game I lost freakin’ 55-2, and that safety was just a mistake on his part.

I search for help online, and all the help is completely over my head. I need just basic, how to play help, not fancy moves. So, since I seem to remember that Madden was the cause of A71, I thought I could come here for help.

OK…here are some specific questions….but any and all help is appreciated…..I’m playing on a PS3

Passing….I think I’m good there…just press the button that’s over the guys head that you want to pass to. Am I supposed to do something to catch it, or does my guy automatically catch it if it’s close?

Rushing…I have no clue what to do. I try to go forward, but I can never get past the line of scrimmage. sometimes my running back will take a step backwards, and I can’t even get him to go forward. I tried the training, and that helped a little bit. The training would have a big R with an arrow over my guys head…what does that mean? I tried pressing the R1 or R2 button and then that direction, but I still got tackled.

How do you know if they are setting up a pass or a rush?

Defense…really no idea what to do. I’m just trying to run towards the ball and press a lot of buttons. I do know how to change players.

Kicking…it took me the whole game, but I figured out how to do that and not kick it 20 yds and out of bounds.

Thanks in advance for any help!! I’m not looking to crush him, but at least I want to make it a game.
