Coffee and Energy Drinks No Longer Working

I am so mentally and physically exhausted. I have been drinking coffee to keep me awake and focused but then had to switch to Energy drinks. Energy drinks do not really do anything for me anymore as well as I feel like I have become immune to both of them.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Go to a doctor (if you can) is not a bad idea regardless of your age. I would rule out other stuff (thyroids, neural ect) before taking any pills or drinks.

Exercise can help, if you are really tired, take a day off to relax or sleep.

    Try some/all of the following:

-Get a good sleep before you study and don't sleep too late.
-Don't start studying right when you wake up, give yourself 30 minute to 1 hour to wake up.
-Make sure to drink water and eat meals at normal intervals.
-Exercise regularly. Also if you get tired mid studying, do a few sets of pushups or any exercise you like.
-Take short breaks every few hours.
-Don't overload yourself with coffee and energy drinks, they will become ineffective, as you have experienced.
-Don't stress yourself out too much, it is a waste of energy.

Energy drinks make your brain stop working. There is no point of studying while you are on energy drinks. Please do not drink energy drinks.

I run when I am exhausted. But everyone is different. Find some ways to handle your stress. Good luck.

Ask trump for some coke lol jk. Seriously, dude when you consume a lot of caffeine your body becomes immune to it and instead of getting an energy boost you get more sluggish. I had the same problem last tax season. Just only consume one to two cups a day max for a week and you will start feeling the effects again. Also diet is huge, eating lots of fruits, veggies, and water versus eating crap helps

lmao at the drugs comment. I have the same problem. I'm trying to incorporate more protein into my diet.. I have no idea if it will help, and I the last person who should be giving health advice, considering my study diet is 50% coffee, 30% bagel bites and 20% tequila/wine, but the way I see it, a well balanced diet with foods high in protein tend to give me the stamina to get through the long days, and the energy is nicely distributed, it doesn't hit me like a cup of coffee does. Then, if I have to study into later hours of the night, I'll have a cup of coffee after dinner. The caffeine doesn't hit me as hard if I am full, and I don't find myself crashing either.

I too, get caffeine overload which causes the opposite of what its purpose is and then I fall asleep. I also don't eat when I'm stressed, and then I get hangry and eat anything I can reach. I need to be more consistent with my diet, but I know on long days when I have work, school and need to squeeze in study time, I consciously make sure I have decent food within reach and when I do that, it makes a big difference.

It looks like you have created a very high tolerance for Caffeine. Like all drugs it just takes more to receive the same effects.

The best long term strat is to stop drinking caffeine for a couple months, then to use only in the morning and when absolutely needed.

When is your test? As others have mentioned you might want to take a day off. Or at least take a weekend to sleep in with no alarm (even if it means studying a bit those days)
