    Hello,

    Does anyone know how many credits you receive for Spanish Clep?

    That CLEP doesn't award any credit – it's merely an exam that yields a score. Your school awards credit based on its criteria and that criteria will vary from school to school. For example, for a high score, one school may offer 8 credits for Beginning Spanish 1 and Beginning Spanish 2 but for the same score, another school might offer 3 credits for Elementary Spanish (but in general, I wouldn't expect to obtain more than 3 credits for any test).

    You really need to contact your school. Note that most four years schools, and many 2-year, will not grant ANY credit once you've obtained junior standing. Most community colleges will require you to be an active student (however it's defined) and again, be aware of requirements – my local community college will not award credit for CLEP exams once you've obtained 64 credits.

    i concur. I was hoping to use CLEP to knock out an additional 18 units to hit the 150 unit level (graduated in 2006 before the unit requirement change went into place), since I don't need any of the units to come from accounting or business courses. After calling around and researching for a couple hours I realized I wasn't going to get admitted to any school in any capacity that would allow me to get CLEP units transfered in.

    I am planning to do LSU online or most likely Western Governors University and just pay the $3k or $4k for 6 months of access and knock out a bunch of random online classes.

    There is a service, designed for teachers, where the school will put the CLEP examinations on a transcript for you. I think it cost 500$, but it's worth it for a one time deal, assuming you need 30 credit hours. The schools might provide a transcript for a fee like this as well. Typically, these places award a lot of credits for the CLEP tests as well. For example, at my school, the college mathematics CLEP would earn 3 credits. If I used this transcript service, I would have earned 6 credits for it, instead of the 3, which I ended up earning. The only reason I didn't use this service was cost. I had completed everything, but 3 credits worth of classes/CLEP exams. I'd rather pay $80+study a bit than pay the $500 for a single class. If all I needed was a transcript for 30 credit hours, I would have definitely taken this route.

    B=84 This exam was such a b**** that I thought I failed-don't know how these things work
    A=76 Slacker I am, I'll happily take it
    R=81 I LOVE taxes
    F=80 I don't wanna get banned for an expletive I'm thinking with "yea" proceeding it

    Like others have said- all depends on your school. I strongly recommend credit by exam. 31 of my 151 hours were by exam which let me start sitting at 21, and graduate with my master's at 22. I have a lot of experience with a variety of subjects. I didn't ever do Spanish, but I know you can get up to 12 hours at my school from it if you do well enough.

    I definitely wish they made more freshman know about CBE and the opportunities. Of course, they would rather you pay full tuition price than about $100 for 3 hours 🙂
