Has anyone here recently taken the CFE exam?

I am conflicted on whether to take the exam all at once or one at a time. Also how does the take home exam work? Do you need a working webcam for surveillance with the computer you use?

Also if you do not have a permissible computer to take the exam on , can you take it in house like the CPA?

I have a broken chromebook with Chrome Os and I am very nervous that I cannot take the exam on this laptop. Are you able to take the exam on a laptop that does not have your prep course?

I am planning on prepping/taking this after tax season…glad you asked it.

I don't know much, but the costs involved, to me, seems to indicate that it's a pretty good investment for us (time and money).

Aaronmo I definitely agree, I just wish I had scheduled to take the exam in a physical setting then scramble looking for a laptop that can take the test!

Their FAQ doesn't mention computer requirements, so I'd assume it's web-based. Your public library should have free computer and/or internet access.

I'm not sure why some people talk out of their rectums so often here…

    The tech reqs:

Just saying something for the sake of saying something isn't especially useful.

    Aaronmo,

Not sure if that comment was directed at me, but it does appear to be web-based as I mentioned.

When I took it I had to complete the training software and then send them a request for an activation key that unlocked the test within the software. You then are able to take the test within the software and send them a file after you complete it for them to evaluate your results. Its 100% on your own, timed, and able to be taken wherever you would like on your laptop or computer. You will need to sign a statement that you did not cheat, get assistance, or do other unethical things once you have completed your test.

It still looks like there's an online only version, but thanks for the info.
