Caution: Exam Disclosure Issues

The AICPA has contacted me several times in the past few days about Exam disclosure on here. Please remember that you cannot tell people what you saw on your exam – or even the “nature” of the content.

I can’t stress enough how important it is that you follow the AICPA’s guidelines in this area.

If you see a post that needs addressing – please send it to the NINJA Help Desk – the link is in the sidebar.

    Thank you,

    jeff

You should probably sticky this or it'll just get lost in the shuffle.

    FAR: 75 Roger & Ninja (notes/flashcards/audio/MCQ)
    AUD: 73, 81
    BEC: 71, retake 8/29

We also need to do our due diligence and step in for Jeff. I've seen too many exam disclosures. Even though I just finished the CPA exams last month, this website has been a great resource to help others have a different point of view of attacking the problem or solidify our memory retention.

I agree with Respect, this should be a sticky.

Jeff, is there any way to have a message at the top of every page, or even when you're typing in a question as a “New Topic”, that reads something about– No disclosure, etc etc–? It might be helpful for people who just joined the site and don't realize they can't post certain things.

I don't know anything about computer website coding just thought it could be helpful!

If I recall there used to be a button on the old forum where you could report individual posts. Jeff – I would add this back so that other members of the forum can easily notify you about disclosure issues in certain posts / threads. It's impossible for you to see everything so this may help with that.

I could add a message like that…don't want to get too big-brotherish. In theory, people will just remember what they agreed to when they took the exam 🙂

The “Report” button was based on the old code…I'll need to find a solution for this updated code. Thanks everyone for the help.

Isn't the exam experiences thread a bit misleading? I thought I was safe (and probably am) in saying I ran out of time since it doesn't talk about a question, but now you guys are making me nervous. Can I ask to delete all posts even though I feel like I didn't violate anything — just to err on the safe side?

@hokage- You'll be fine. Saying you ran out of time is not what they're worried about. This is what they're worried about: the other day someone made a post asking about whether the BEC WC content was on BEC topics or if it included topics from AUD, REG, and FAR. I told him he is violating exam disclosure rules by asking that question, yet someone still had the nerve to tell him what it was on even after I posted that. I can't stand people who put this site in jeopardy.

There is a low likely hood that anyone on this site doesn't know about the exam disclosure rules by now. I still see questions all the time disguised in a way so their question doesn't read as blatant as, “What was the content on the exam?” What satisfaction is there in getting your CPA if you do it by breaking rules? Personally, I want to look at the certificate hanging on my wall someday knowing I earned that all by myself, not from the help of others and by breaking rules.

Hokage, you're safe if you all you said was you ran out of time. Just cannot say what the topics were covered. You can talk about your exam experience such as the level of difficulty you encountered, how you felt the knot in your stomach turning, etc. I've had people go crazy in determining about the level of difficulty and boy there was a long thread about it saying it wasn't worth it to try and decipher because in reality, there's no way of knowing what the difficulty level of your testlets was. It's all based on how you prepared for the exam.

You'll be fine. Just keep on trucking and prepare as much as you can.
