Hi guys, my VP wants to talk to me next week about my career goals. My director (immediate supervisor) is retiring in about 5 years, there are no senior positions in my small unit. I want to grow from within. Any tips on how to handle this conversation. My title is accountant/assist. controller. I have 10+ of experience in accounting, but basically 3 after obtaining my B.S. in accounting. Any help in leading this conversation would be superb.

Just be honest and share what your goals are.

If you like it there just hope they are on the same page as you. If not, look elsewhere.
