Currently I have 4 years of experience in industry accounting and passed the CPA exam.

If I decide to pursue a masters degree in accounting and graduate. What kind of jobs and positions could be available? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you already have the exam passed and the credits needed for licensure, there is very little value in most MAcc programs. The exception is recruiting for Big 4. If you go to a national target (PSU, etc.), you will have an easy time getting a Big 4 job if that's what you're interested in.

MAcc is best for undergrads who get b.s. and m.s. consecutively to reach 150 credits and to get a good first job (that's what I am doing). Once you have work experience and a CPA, an MBA is more relevant for career advancement or career change. Don't drop 40k for a MAcc if you don't need the credits!

I have many years in industry accounting, which I don't like at all. Master degree is a great way to get into public accounting if your school is heavily recruited. If you don't need accounting units, you may consider MIS master program. Public accounting firms are heavily recruiting data engineering students. Or if you are interested in tax consulting, then, you may consider MST. But it all depends on what you want to be in next 5 or 10 years. I don't recommend you to stay in industry accounting. I don't see any future in industry accounting. All the best.

I agree with some of the comments above. I don't see any difference with the types of jobs from going for a Masters in Accounting after already having a CPA since the job outlook would be the same. I see a Masters in Accounting as being beneficial for the following purposes after already having a CPA: 1) on-campus recruiting with better prospects at programs that are accredited by AACSB in both Business and Accounting, 2) when you are trying to pursue work in a different area of accounting than what your work experience is in. For example, if your work experience is in Cost and you desire a position in Internal Audit, you could choose a program which has a strong Internal Audit focus such as LSU, do an internship in Internal Audit and land a job in Internal Auditing. If you wish to work in Tax, choose a Masters in Taxation over a Masters in Accounting and 3) a Masters in Accounting would help if you want to teach Accounting and continue toward the Ph.D.
