    Whenever I’m studying, which has been for two years now, I am constantly hungry and even hangry! I gained about 6 pounds over the two years, almost lost it all when I thought I was done in August, and now am back to being hungry again while studying. Anyone else like this?

    Consistently ran 5k 4-5 times a week throughout the entire process, still managed to put on about 10 or 15 lbs over the course of a year. I'm an avid fitbit-er and getting 10k a day isn't an option for me, it's a requirement. Walking/jogging isn't much i know, but it helps. I found studying at places that I didn't have access to food (ie. not at home) to be the best method for curbing this. Starbucks ended up being a common hangout for me, and I'm too cheap to buy anything other than coffee there so it worked out well. Just passed my 4th test this last round, so now it's time to work on getting rid of it before busy season. Planning on joining a group fitness program with all of my new-found free time.

    I think honestly the bigger effects from all of the studying was the drain on my mental health, the strain it put on my relationship, and the increased rate at which i'm balding.

    Oh well, it's over now. no where to go but up from here! (and not on the scale hahaha)

    Beer. I have narrowed my weight gain down to beer. And honestly, my beer consumption isn't all that crazy. Not during studying, not during the day. But if I have 2-3 beers 2-3-4x's a week, wowee. I've put on about 5lbs this year. It doesn't sound terrible, but I can't squeeze into most of my pants now… so there's that. I keep telling myself “big” and done is better than not big and not done.

    Yes! Lol, just discovered I gained 20 pounds since January that I last checked. I have been studying full time for the most part so what I do is eat, study and sleep. But that will end soon once work starts, I will burn it off easily.

    I began studying in 2015, I didn't end up taking my first exam until February of 2017, but made a huge parade about beginning studying back then. At the time I weighed 195ish and I always gave myself a couple of options, either study or go for a jog. Fast-forward to Fall 2016, I'm running my first half-marathon and weigh 156, pretty much gave up studying for that first test. This year I got serious and passed all 4 in 7 months, but sacrificed running and subsequently gained 10 lbs. Now that I'm finished, I'm definitely looking forward running more often.

    I'm doing a Whole 60 whilst studying for FAR. The rigid, no-cheating nature of the program seems to be the only thing standing between me and daily cookie/chips/soda binge while hitting the books. Also, waiting on the energy blast that comes a couple of weeks into the program…banking on that making the deprivation worth it. 🙂

    @Ana,

    Just remember the mental energy you spent fighting that urge could be spent banging out MCQs…. (or so I tell myself)

    @blue collar nerd,

    I'm about to dig into some Chubby Hubby…It has the four food groups: ice cream, pretzels, chocolate, and peanut butter.

    I've started losing weight but I have horrible anxiety related to this test, and it's making my stomach upset on the regular.

    @ellejay : ( my husband lost weight due to anxiety, kinda scary
    @benj LOL the things we tell ourselves. I ate a chocolate covered cherry, 5 handful of tortilla chips, and a nectarine. So random but it's all I have around the house to binge on.

    I feel like I'm getting a flat ass from sitting all day. I hate my dining room table/area with a passion. I associate it all to the CPA. Getting a new set after I pass.

    During the time I studied for my cpa exam i gained a couple of pounds as well. As soon you are done with it you will have plenty of time to hit the gym and start making changes to your diet! I eventually got back on track and you will too. Now I am doing meal prep and hitting the gym at least 3 times a week. I remember the day before my exam i would lock myself in my room and survive off cheezits and potato chips…good times! and I loved croissants and pumpkin muffins (still do now, in moderation) everyday while studying at starbucks. It was more of a comfort thing/stress dealer for me while I was going through the stressful process of the cpa. A dessert or pastry was sort of a way to get me to go to a coffee shop and actually study! lol
