I have been curious about the general age range of those who take the CPA exam. I am 41 and sometimes feel like I am an old person taking the exam. Any thoughts on age — are you just out of college and in your 20’s or is anyone here a bit older, like myself?

Counting the days to 40. It's never too late. My reasons for starting this CPA journey were many, even though I intend to spend most of the remainder of my career in corp finance. I thought it might be cool to work as a business manager someday in LA. I also got sick of people putting CPAs fresh out of public and two years out of school on a veteran level (I know you are all out there and I know you are smart but there is no substitute for experience). I thought it might be cool to teach it part time someday. Perhaps do a little bit of business consulting (have an interesting business model idea and it requires a CPA). Most of all? I think finance and accounting are blending…and I'm going to need it as a director. The CPA gives you options and options = freedom.

    MBA,CMA,CPA, CFF?, ABV?
