    @Darcer:

    What's your best counter to your favorite move. I Just got caught last week in it off a bad shot.

    “@Darcer I wish i had longer arms for it lol

    where do you set it up from?”

    I can hit it from a lot of spots especially no gi. The easiest is top of half guard when the dude underhooks to try to get up

    you have to fight that first hand (hand going under your arm) or you are in trouble. Once it is locked, you are basically done, maybe you can flex to keep your shoulder away from your neck and hope the guy choking you fries his grip.

    Jeff Glover has a nice Darce instructional vid. I thought I had invented a few of those moves, lol

    @jeff Did you tornado kick anyone?? πŸ˜‰

    @taxgeek awesome!! slowly you'll get your timing and cardio back.

    @leglock sucks to be caught in a deep darce. when i undertook a guy from half guard i usually pasture up my head to avoid him from folding my head in.

    @darcer I want to be like you when i grow up, a CPA and a brown belt in bjj πŸ˜€

    I'm hoping so! Unfortunately this week is insanely crazy, and I'm traveling for work next week, so I'm not going to make it back for a couple of weeks. Hopefully after the holiday craziness is over I can get back into a routine!

    Those belts come with some nice back whippings. We just had a belt ceremony at our school 2 weeks ago. Teacher says there aren't as many people here today as normal so you have to walk the gauntlet one extra time. My buddy was getting his brown, so he had to walk through 4 times. As he made it through, the instructor noticed he didn't have a team patch on his gi. Made him walk through another time. So he walked through 5x in total. HIs back was purple and welted like i've not seen before. Our instructor is straight from Brazil so the belt whipping is followed up by each black belt present having each student who's getting a new belt having to jump up and down in front of each black belt who then proceeds to perform a takedown/throw upon you. kind of made me happy not to be getting a belt that day. I think it's better when more students are present bc the other students are too crowded to really wind up and get a good whip on you.

    Fun times.

    @apj – Woot!! I haven't been back in something like three weeks – and won't make it back for at least a couple more. Between my last exam, holidays, work trips, second job – looking forward to everything finally calming down!! πŸ™‚

    I don't think my brain could handle tax work without destressing on the mats and in the weight room.

    Jones v. Cormier this Saturday – we're getting a watch party together, which sadly happens less and less with the fight cards.

    First time on the mat last night in 3 months – surprised at how much I still remember, but I hurt today. A lot…!
