Here is an idea to stay more focused during your study sessions:

For Mac only: Anti-Social is a productivity application for Macs that turns off the social parts of the internet. When Anti-Social is running, you’re locked away from distracting social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter and other sites you specify. With Anti-Social, you’ll be amazed how much you get done when you turn off your friends. When Anti-Social is running, the only way to get around the block is by rebooting your computer. As you will feel a deep sense of shame for rebooting just to waste time on Twitter, you’re unlikely to cheat. https://anti-social.cc/

For Mac or PC: Freedom is the world-famous app that locks you away from the ‘net so you can be productive.

If the internet is distracting you from your work, Freedom might be the best 10 dollars you’ll ever spend. https://macfreedom.com/

For PC only: Cold Turkey is a free/open source program that you can use to temporarily block yourself off of popular social media sites, addicting websites, online games and whatever else you want! You can use it to help you concentrate while you work on your computer. Imagine how fast you could do your work without all those distractions! https://getcoldturkey.com/

I use the “Self Control” app on my mac –> https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/31289/selfcontrol

you tell it which website you want to block and for how long. even restarting your computer won't let you back on…you just have to wait for the timer to run out. it's great if youre impulsive like me and can't say no to distractions!!

Haha, I had no idea there were actual applications for this…I'm not surprised, but I never thought to look.

I just asked my friends to hold me accountable. I told them to tell me I already failed if they saw me online in any capacity. It worked pretty well. 🙂
