I’ve taken BEC 3x. I don’t really count the first one because I took it immediately after tax season with minimal studying. The other 2 times, I have scored 73 and 72.
My main concern with BEC is the Written Communication aspect. Becker and other study guides make it seem as if it is a guaranteed 15 points when that is simply not the case. I have scored weaker all 3 times in this phase. There is more to it than simple sentence structure and grammar. Becker specifically says that you do not even have to know the subject content to receive credit.
Why is this so misleading? Surely, I can’t be that bad of a writer. I’m getting ready to sit for Round 4 on Friday and feel confident in the material outside of the W/C. Anyone else feel the same way? What is it that I am missing?
