I passed BEC (before SIMS) but it expired – thank you AICPA for delaying scores TWICE and not extending 18 months. I retook it yesterday. I have passed FAR, REG, AUD, and ethics – this is my LAST one.

I thought the SIMS were WAY harder than even FAR! I also had 1 simulation that WAS DEFINITELY NOT in my material. Of the 60 MCQ or so, there were only 3 that I wasn’t sure about so I was feeling pretty good. Until that simulation. I know they throw out one of the WC. I am 99% sure they keep all 4 SIMS but I had to ask…please tell me 1 is pre-tested?
I went home to double check my material and it for sure wasn’t in there!

I’m using Roger material and I scored an 81 the first time I took BEC (before SIMS).

I’m wondering if I should switch courses for 1 test? I’ll probably buy the one with the most SIMS since that seems to be where I’m stuck? Any words of wisdom from you guys – you’re the best, btw! 🙂

1 Sim is thrown out as well as 1 MC.. I know how you feel though my first SIM had something that Becker did not show me how to do. At least your MC went well because my 2nd testlet was out of this world difficult with stuff I had not seen or seen to that level of detail!

Just like I posted about FAR, Becker has tons of SIM practice between the SIMS at the end of each chapter, and the mock exams. I wouldn't doubt you hit at least 99% of the possible sim types that are out there. Their skillmaster videos walk you through the important ones as well. I definitely found them helpful. I just took BEC, and I don't recall any SIM on my test I wasn't prepared for. I haven't used any other study material, so I cant speak for the others.

Some people get more fortunate sims than others which could definitely be the case. I did do the SIMS for all of the sections and and modules within Becker and still got one that you wouldn't have expected so maybe that was the throwout one.

Keep in mind guys that one sim might be one of those un-scored test runs on a question. Never know

I took BEC in 3rd quarter and felt pretty flustered with the SIMS compared to the MCQs. One of mine was also never covered in the Wiley study guide at all. At first glance, I was like YES! I know this topic!! Piece of cake! But then I started reading and quickly realized that my study material never covered that specific area of the topic. It's really disappointing to study for so long and so hard and have exam questions that completely throw you for a loop. I guess that's just part of the game. Fingers crossed that we passed!!

Took BEC this quarter too and also had one SIM that came out of nowhere. Never seen it in any of the study material. I'm hoping that's the pretest SIM.

I had the reverse feeling. Did not do as well on the MCQs and felt the SIMs were relatively easier.
