Obviously the WC being 15% helps, but why are the rates for this section statistically so high given the randomness of the material?

Probably because it is the one with the least amount of material to cover and not to mention you really only need a background in general business topics. Corp finance, Eco, Operation management are topics that pretty much all people must take in any business degree program.

My theory is that most people take BEC last. That usually mean they have already plowed through the first 3 so they're extra motivated to pass the last!

    Study Material:
    GLEIM
    BEC - FEB/2012
    AUD - FEB/2012
    FAR - JULY/2012
    REG - JULY/2012

I feel like AUD has the least amount of material. Or maybe it's more consistent so I feel like it's less…

I don't think there were SIMs on BEC in the past. It was just MCQ and WC, so people had a better chance of passing. I think BEC is going to have a lower pass rate with the SIMs now, but I can't be sure. It's the section I've had the most difficulty with so far, but I haven't attempted FAR yet.

I remember when a lot of people thought that the pass rate was gonna change with the introduction of sims, but pass rate hasn't changed much with the introduction with sims.

NASBA has said that BEC has more people taking it as their last exam. The population of people who have already passed 3 exams is going to be more likely to pass their 4th exam.

SIMs on BEC weren't as difficult as SIMs on other sections I've taken..

My BEC sims were freaking weird, but clearly, I must be equally weird since I scored a 98 with a 5 week study window.

That said, it was the exam that shook me the most because I couldn't tell if I got the hard second MCQ set and I had a devil of a time understanding what the sims and writing prompts wanted. I never underestimated it though, and I think that's the key. The moment you get too comfortable with a CPA exam, that's when you're toast.

Thanks everyone for the input. I am definitely not under estimating this exam by any measure, however, I feel the most uncertain as I am 2 weeks out. I really want to get this process over with as I start work this month. Do you guys have any areas of focus that you felt most important leading up to the exam?
