I am about to take retake audit in the next few days. Just got approved and need to make my payment coupon thing. After taking audit I will have about 4.5 weeks left before March 10 to take another exam. Which one would be easier to do BEC or REG. I have not taken BEC or REG before, only audit and Far which I have to retake. I have roger videos along with his cram for all the parts. I also have Gliem mcqs for all the parts

I would say BEC. I personally thought there was much less information, REG to me was the most information of any of the exams. Both I would say are doable in 4.5 weeks, but it would be easier to study for BEC in 4.5 weeks than REG in my opinion.

I think it depends on you…for me it would have been REG, even without a tax background (at the time). Did you have the normal business classes? Have you done any tax prep?

BEC is generally regarded as the easy section. I didn't find it hard, but I found it annoying and memorization heavy. I suck at memorization.

I agree with aaronmo. I haven't studied for BEC yet but by the time I take REG I'll have about 5.5 weeks of study time. I have one tax busy season (as an intern so doesn't even really count). I find REG to be more detailed than FAR but doesn't take near as much time to study for so I think personally the optimal study time for REG is 4.5-6 weeks.

REG is doable in 4 weeks, but you have to study hella. BEC is more doable.

@ranas BEC is generally more “doable” in a shorter period of time. Both are difficult in their own rights, but BEC seemed to have more “graspable” (doubt that's a word) material, without as much density as that of REG.

For me – I love taxes and have a blaw background. I'd rather study for REG any day of the week over BEC. Personally, I would knock BEC out and then worry about REG. But again, that's just because of my personal preferences.

    AUD - 56 - 68 - 61 - 9/8/16
    REG - 75
    FAR - 7/15/16
    BEC - TBD

Thanks to everyone for the reply. I have paid for Bec and will start studying for that one after I take audit on Feb 3. March 10 is open and thats when I'll take Bec.
