Hey,

I am currently studying for BEC and I am getting annoyed with one of my coworkers. He keeps telling me that this exam is so easy, that he doesn’t know why anyone would need to study for it. I do need to study for it and it is not easy for me… Actually, there is a lot of things that I find difficult…

I guess he found a perfect way to make me feel really dumb…

You are on your last test, keep going and don't let anyone stop you from your goal. Whether it takes you longer than he does, who cares? At the end of the day you will still be a CPA, keep going, never give up!

And, for the record, he probably is studying and just said that to try to get you to stop studying.

Does he have CPA after his name? If not, tell him to put up or shut up! Tell him to go ahead and meet the requirements, pay for the exam, and to make sure he wears a bubble wrap suit because the fall off that pedestal he put himself on is going to be a long drop! If he does have CPA after his name, then ask him when he passed the exam, because my boss was licensed in 1969 and he said if he had to take it again, he'd fail and then quit!

We all find some things difficult. The most difficult thing that I have found, besides the CPA exam, is dealing with … well, I'm going to call them idiots, just to keep things rated G. It's such a good thing that he works with you and not with me!

Give him a sample of 30 questions and 1 sim and tell him “crow sandwich” is on the lunch menu if he fails.

People try to make themselves feel better by belittling the efforts of others. Don't let him succeed!

He took the exam about 10 years ago. According to him, BEC is very easy, and the CPA exam was more difficult in the past! Surprise, surprise 🙂

Sounds like you should just totally ignore this person's comments. These exams are different for everyone, and it has changed in the past 10 years. Don't let it get to you. You are obviously NOT dumb… you've passed 3 parts already.

If anyone should ‘feel' dumb, it's this person trying to make himself look like a hot shot.

If he took it 10 years ago, he probably never even took BEC… *rolls eyes* But beyond that, what's easy for each person varies. He must be intimidated by you becoming a CPA if he's fighting that hard against it!

Sounds to me like if he enjoys making other people feel small…it's probably because he has something small. 😉

Don't let the peanut gallery get you down! Focus on destroying BEC and be sure to enjoy the displeased look on this persons face when they realize you may take their job soon! 😉
