BaxterCPA, as I may not be “around” the next few days, I wanted to chime in and say good luck! I know you can finish this, and FAR will be finally be defeated! Look forward to hearing how it went, and seeing your passing score. You deserve this, go finish this.

I love the song Roar! And the new Brit song! Hope all you ladies' studying continues to go well. 🙂 (and mens!)
I don't know 100% of the FAR subjects inside and out, but somehow I feel like I am the most prepared of any test as I am for my FAR re-take which is a WEEK from today! Obviously some subjects are weighted more heavily than others and knowing this, I've prepped accordingly and tried not to get too bent out of shape in the small-points subjects. (That being said, I've taken on my re-studying, taking ample time to plan for the worst in these areas – AKA a huge deferred tax asset or bond issuance w/ journals entries simulation! I won't nail them 100% but I'll get some points). A friend of mine was literally throwing away his old Becker books (2010 or 2011?) and I asked if I could keep FAR – so this weekend I did all the end-of-chapter questions for each of the 9 chapters and I averaged a 77% on them all. My “con” thoughts on this is that the Qs seem much simpler than Gleim or Wiley so I'm like ehhh, 77% – is that really that good?? and that there is no IRFS in this book. My “pro” thoughts on this is that I didn't go back and review any of the “old” material I studied so everything besides business consolidations wasn't so fresh in my mind, yet I was still doing well in materials I haven't looked at for a while. This means I KNOW this stuff now. (I hope!)
I've logged over 140 study hours in the last 6 weeks. I'll get another 20 or so before Sunday. My attitude is good and I've been pretty good about steering myself around stressful study bouts by taking a break, moving on to something I'm good at. etc, so I have been able to avoid a total burn-out! If I went into the test tomorrow morning, I'd feel like I'd pass. Lucky for me I have an additional 6 days to add even more points to my 75.
😀
REG - 65, 70, 80!
BEC - 35, 62, 79!

October 24, 2013 at 3:30 am #475802AnonymousInactivenbad: How did FAR go on 10/20? I hope that is your last exam!! I will be watching for that PASS at score release.
NoLife: Thanks for your continued support.
I had my surgery last Wednesday and it went really well. I can't believe how “easy” it was (out of the hospital the next day) and the recovery hasn't been as bad as I made it up to be in my mind. I haven't had any pain meds today and I'm absolutely focused on FAR from here on out. So far it is scheduled for Nov 14 but that may change as things continue to develop with Dad. I'm actually heading south to Georgia (or Florida – depending on which house he decides to be at this weekend) to see him tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to this trip. 8 days after surgery…AMAZING!
I'm truly hoping, believing and praying that I can pull FAR out of the hat at the last minute. I still have pain but I'm plowing through it…all the other symptoms from anemia/iron treatments are gone and I am going to (FINALLY!) stand on HEALTH and kill that sum beach!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's passing scores in a few days!!!

October 24, 2013 at 3:50 am #475804AnonymousInactiveBaxter!!! I am soo glad you are doing well. I have been thinking about you, and wondering how it went, and how you are doing 🙂 I am glad you get to see your dad again too. Have a great trip. I will say I am glad to be feeling so much better than before! I am so happy for you that it was so much better than you imagined!
You are going to nail FAR, and be done! I hope to on Friday. Still very nervous, but going for it!

November 28, 2013 at 2:49 am #475810AnonymousInactiveThanks Beach Girl. I am seriously stressed about this exam. I haven't had the time to study like I want to…need to… because of my surgery and my father's declining health. I've done the best I can and we will find out on Saturday if it is enough. I would love for this nightmare to be over and we shall see if the cpa gods agree.

November 28, 2013 at 5:26 am #475812AnonymousInactiveKeep going. You are almost there. I know how hard this fall has been, and I really get how hard it is to study after surgery. It is not a easy road. Stay focused, positive and you have this.
