BaxterCPA, as I may not be “around” the next few days, I wanted to chime in and say good luck! I know you can finish this, and FAR will be finally be defeated! Look forward to hearing how it went, and seeing your passing score. You deserve this, go finish this.

I am really struggling with time management this week. I have a full time job, one masters class and FAR. The masters class consists of a great deal of reading, summarizing articles and a two page paper every week. I feel guilty for working on the class when I should be studying. At some point I have to sleep, eat and see my husband and kids. I keep telling myself it is only until Oct 14th but if I can't get study time in…how will I pass FAR and not lose AUD?

To top it off, Illinois is notoriously slow for mailing score reports and I want to know what section was lacking when I scored the 73 on FAR.

I will not give up but I sure feel like it today!

Thanks Neika: I'm worried about finding the time to study with this class. The plan was to have the exam out of the way before starting the Masters but fate did not smile at me this time. How can I pass if I can't find time in the books? So frustrating…

@baxter My 2 cents? Make friends with your classmates. If you can get their help it may mean more time studying for the exam and less time doing class work. Good luck! You can do this! 🙂

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

Yama: Thanks! Unfortunately, it is an “intro to the profession” class and carries lots of reading and article summaries..it's plain ole time consuming! Assignments are due on Saturdays at midnight. My strategy so far is to get all my reading and assignments done during lunch and in the evenings Monday – Wednesday…then putting the class away and studying for exam Thursday – Sunday. I also try to do MCQs for one or two hours on M-W to keep the exam material fresh. I review my NINJA notes every night before going to sleep. My hope and prayer is that by keeping Sat/Sun open for exam study only, I can make this work. *fingers crossed*
