I saved audit for last, not because I thought it would be the hardest but because I figured it would be unbearable… I was right, no computations, just boring dry material….through chapter one of Roger, does this get any more bearable or is it this bad? TIA

I hate audit too. Took two audit courses in college. I mainly memorized whatever material they gave us. I am afraid I will have to actually understand this time lol

I actually rather liked the audit material, with the exception of transaction cycles. The question bank does get a bit repetitive after a while so it's the only test where I didn't complete all of the MCQ's. That being said if you didn't like the first chapter you probably won't like any of the rest.

Yes, I agree AUD is boring (all about concepts). But I'm studying for REG now and I would want to have AUD any day over REG. AUD isn't too difficult you just need to memorize. But for REG is computation and then Blaw concepts…ugh talk about boring…..REG puts me to sleep any minute!!!

OMG – Yes to this entire thread!!! I took audit first (2x so far) and I was extremely ready to move on by the end of it. I just started studying for REG – and I hate it even more. Wiley starts off with Blaw and I want to gouge my eyeballs out. Just trying to read this stuff is a struggle to concentrate and stay focused. I have even been listening to the NINJA audio and now I dread driving anywhere. There is just nothing exciting about Blaw. I can't wait to move to the tax stuff since I really enjoy taxes.

I took Audit in May and I thought studying for it was awful. It was extremely boring and I pretty much just read the Becker book until I had it memorized, but it worked because the exam was a breeze when I took it.

@CPANJ22 I just started audit yesterday with ROGER and I did that entire section in 1 day. Boy did i want to kill myself, but section two is boring but easier than the first one since it just goes over the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct and IAASB and some other stuff. Most of it is self explanatory in section 2. But man Audit is difficult because of how wordy the problem are and then the answers are too!!! And my scores are not making me feel better either. I scored a 52 yesterday and 58 today (both out of 50 questions). I need to purchase NINJA MCQ's ASAP

Even though I am ok with boring stuff and am super boring person myself, audit felt incredibly tedious even for me. I was dragging it for 4+ months. There was certain liveliness in transaction cycle though

AUD was the absolute worst to study for. It was also my highest score, and I took it drunk, because that's the only way I could deal with it at that point.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I actually kind of like the AUD material… I'm less excited for starting FAR after this. 🙁

I just got an 80 on the first AUD Becker practice exam. I hope it goes well…

Also, I'm pretty sure I'll get laughed at at work if I fail AUD after passing REG (I work on the audit side)… my friends on the tax side will probably try to tell me it's a sign to switch over to the dark side. :/
