Howdy,

I have AUD in three days. I’m trending nicely on MCQs and am typically around 80%.

When it comes to the SIMs I fall flat though. Some of them I crush (JEs & research) but am around 50% when it comes to the ones where it asks you things like “what audit procedure is covered when X is done”, etc.

I searched through old posts and it sounds like my experiences aren’t all that uncommon. A lot of people said to heavily rely on the authoritative literature for the SIMs and to spend the time working MCQs. Those posts were 3 years old though.

Is that still the prevailing wisdom? Has anyone who has recently taken AUD weigh in?

I still agree with the post from 3 years ago. The AL helped a LOT with audit sims – more-so than with any other exam, in my opinion. I was able to find an entire sim word for word in the AL.

Agreed- I found the literature a lifesaver in audit where I mostly only used for the research question for both FAR and REG.

Just took audit today actually and I'm pretty sure I nailed 3 sims including the research question for sure purely based on the AL. 2 of the remaining 4 i had a good grasp on so I'm not too worried, and the remaining 2 I worked out and got about half credit for both after checking some stuff up when I got back. WIth 3 days left, I wouldn't worry about practicing sims. I think your time is better spent understanding any last minute concepts that you're struggling with and just cranking out mcqs for days. Hope that helps.
